nEw3 Post-approval Study The primary purpose of this study is to assess the long term reliability of the Medtronic Adapta®/Sensia™/Versa™ platform of devices. This study is required by FDA as a condition of approval of nEw3 devices. Patients will be followed for 5 years after implant. This study utilizes data collected from the System Longevity Study (SLS).

The Efficacy, Safety and Tolerability of E2007 in Levodopa Treated Parkinson's Disease Patients With Motor Fluctuations Patients will be randomised to receive either placebo or the study drug for a period of 30 weeks, in addition to their standard Parkinsonian medications. During the first 8 weeks, the patient's levodopa doses may be adjusted if necessary by the investigator. For the remainder of the 22 weeks, all medications should be kept stable. Patients will be required to attend the clinic twice during the screening period and then a further 8 times during the treatment period. They will be required to complete home diaries where they will record their motor function. In addition, their doctor will assess their Parkinson's disease during the clinic visits. There will also be blood draws for safety and pharmacokinetic and pharmacogenomics evaluation. Following the treatment and assessment period, they will return to the clinic one month later for follow up.

Efficacy and Safety of Carbidopa/Levodopa/Entacapone in Patients With Parkinson's Disease Requiring Initiation of Levodopa Therapy The CELC200A2401 study has been designed in order to evaluate the hypothesis that administering the combination carbidopa/levodopa/entacapone at the time that levodopa therapy is initiated results in a decrease in the risk of the development of motor complications for patients with Parkinson's disease.

A Study of the Safety and Preliminary Efficacy of Oral Midostaurin (PKC412) in Relapsed or Refractory Pediatric Leukemia This is a phase I/II pediatric dose-ranging study that will evaluate the safety, tolerability, clinical response, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of midostaurin in patients <18 years of age who have relapsed or refractory acute leukemias that may benefit from administration of midostaurin, including MLL-rearranged ALL and FLT3 positive AML.

A Study of Valacyclovir Hydrochloride in the Prevention of Life-Threatening Cytomegalovirus Disease in HIV-Infected Patients PRIMARY: To evaluate the efficacy of valacyclovir hydrochloride (BW 256U87) in the prevention of cytomegalovirus (CMV) end-organ disease in HIV/CMV co-infected patients with CD4+ lymphocytes < 100 cells/mm3. To assess the impact of BW 256U87, high-dose oral acyclovir and low-dose oral acyclovir on survival. SECONDARY: To evaluate the effect of BW 256U87 on quality of life, the safety of the drug administered concurrently with standard antiretroviral agents and other essential therapies for the treatment and prevention of opportunistic diseases, and the efficacy of BW 256U87 in suppressing activation of other herpesviruses. To evaluate serologic and virologic risk factors for the development of CMV disease, including assessment of HIV activation, and the risk of developing drug-resistant CMV, HSV, and VZV. Gastrointestinal absorption of acyclovir is not high enough to prevent CMV disease in patients with advanced HIV disease, although there is evidence that high doses of the drug may extend survival. Valacyclovir, a prodrug that is rapidly converted to acyclovir after oral administration, has a higher absorption rate and may therefore provide inhibitory activity against CMV.

Repinotan in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke The purpose of this trial is to evaluate Repinotan HCl in patients with acute ischemic stroke. At study entry patients will be randomized to Repinotan HCl or placebo in a 1:1 ratio. The total treatment period wil be 72 hours.

Prospective Registry of European Hemophilia B Patients Receiving BeneFIX® for Usual Use This is an open-label multi-center Registry in patients with hemophilia B receiving BeneFIX. All patients who begin treatment with BeneFIX in European Union countries, will be eligible for participation. Patient demographics will be collected at baseline for all patients. A baseline FIX activity and Bethesda assay for inhibitor based on historical data should be recorded if available. Adverse events as defined in the protocol will also be reported on the appropriate forms. Data will be collected from patients on an ongoing basis to ensure that information is being captured for each patient being treated with BeneFIX.
