A Study of Lenalidomide Versus Placebo in Subjects With Transfusion Dependent Anemia in Lower Risk Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) Without Del 5q The purpose of this study is to investigate whether lenalidomide would reduce the number of red blood cell transfusions (RBC) needed in anemic (RBC transfusion-dependent) participants with low or intermediate-1 risk MDS without a deletion 5q chromosome abnormality. The study also investigated the safety of lenalidomide use in these participants. Two-thirds of the participants received oral lenalidomide and one-third of the participants received oral placebo.

Nilotinib in Newly Diagnosed Adult Philadelphia Chromosome & /or BCR-ABL Positive Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia in Chronic Phase This study will assess the efficacy and safety of nilotinib in adult patients with newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome positive/BCR-ABL positive chronic myeloid leukaemia in chronic phase. A Prospective, Multicentre European Registry for Newly Diagnosed Patients With Myelodysplastic Syndromes Study Objectives: To collect and describe demographics, disease-management, and treatment outcomes of Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) patients who are newly diagnosed and classified according to the WHO criteria. To perform observational studies concerning relevant scientific research questions in MDS using clinical data and biological samples, and to present relevant research outcomes in the fields of diagnosis and prognostication, health related quality of life issues, health economics, and risk stratification for newly developed classes of drugs. A Safety and Efficacy Study of Ustekinumab in Patients With Plaque Psoriasis Who Have Had an Inadequate Response to Methotrexate This purpose of this study is to assess the safety of ustekinumab in psoriasis patients who receive ustekinumab following an inadequate response to methotrexate therapy. The study will provide information for doctors on how to manage the transfer from methotrexate to the biologic agent ustekinumab. The study is designed to compare two methods of transferring patients from methotrexate to ustekinumab. The two methods being compared are discontinuation of methotrexate with immediate initiation of ustekinumab versus initiation of ustekinumab with overlap and gradual dose reduction of methotrexate over 4 weeks.

The Efficacy, Safety and Tolerability of E2007 in Levodopa Treated Parkinson's Disease Patients With Motor Fluctuations Patients will be randomised to receive either placebo or the study drug for a period of 30 weeks, in addition to their standard Parkinsonian medications. During the first 8 weeks, the patient's levodopa doses may be adjusted if necessary by the investigator. For the remainder of the 22 weeks, all medications should be kept stable. Patients will be required to attend the clinic twice during the screening period and then a further 8 times during the treatment period. They will be required to complete home diaries where they will record their motor function. In addition, their doctor will assess their Parkinson's disease during the clinic visits. There will also be blood draws for safety and pharmacokinetic and pharmacogenomics evaluation. Following the treatment and assessment period, they will return to the clinic one month later for follow up.
