Macitentan Use in an Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Clinical Study The AC-055B201/MUSIC study is a Phase II study, comparing one dose of ACT-064922 (macitentan) 10 mg with placebo in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The main study objective is to demonstrate that macitentan positively affects the forced vital capacity (FVC) in comparison with placebo in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The secondary objectives are to evaluate the effect of macitentan on the time to disease worsening or death in patients with IPF, and to evaluate the benefit/risk profile of macitentan in the treatment of patients with IPF.

Efficacy and Safety of Alirocumab (SAR236553/REGN727) Versus Ezetimibe on Top of Statin in High Cardiovascular Risk Patients With Hypercholesterolemia (ODYSSEY COMBO II) Alirocumab (SAR236553/REGN727) is a fully human monoclonal antibody that binds PCSK9 (proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9). Primary Objective of the study: To demonstrate the reduction of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) by alirocumab as add-on therapy to stable maximally tolerated daily statin therapy in comparison with ezetimibe after 24 weeks of treatment in participants with hypercholesterolemia at high cardiovascular (CV) risk. Efficacy and Safety of Oral Bosentan in Patients With Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is expressed in a variety of pulmonary pathological conditions including pulmonary vascular disease and pulmonary fibrosis. Bosentan (an oral dual ET-1 receptor antagonist) could delay the progression of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a condition for which no established treatment is available. The present trial investigates a possible use of bosentan, which is currently approved for the treatment of symptoms of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) WHO class III and IV, to a new category of patients suffering from IPF. It was decided to offer Open Label treatment (bosentan) for patients willing to continue in the BUILD 1 study.
