Satavaptan in the Prevention of Ascites Recurrence in Patients With Ascites Due to Cirrhosis of the Liver Primary To evaluate the efficacy of satavaptan on top of diuretic drugs in reducing the recurrence of ascites. Secondary To evaluate the tolerability and safety of satavaptan on top of diuretic drugs over a 52-week treatment period in participants with cirrhosis of the liver and recurrent ascites. The one-year double blind placebo controlled period is extended up to 2 years in a long term safety study (PASCCAL-2).

Satavaptan Dose-Ranging Study in Normonatraemic Patients With Cirrhotic Ascites The primary objective is to determine the optimal dose or range of doses of SR121463B for the treatment of ascites when used concomitantly with a standard dose regimen of spironolactone and furosemide. The secondary objective is to determine the tolerability of different fixed doses of SR121463B over a 14 day treatment period in cirrhotic ascites.

To perform observational studies concerning relevant scientific research questions in MDS using clinical data and biological samples, and to present relevant research outcomes in the fields of diagnosis and prognostication, health related quality of life issues, health economics, and risk stratification for newly developed classes of drugs.
